I found out about this unique contest opportunity from "THE NOT SO BLOG" on blogger/blogspot. I want to tell you about my Aunt Shirley.

She has been such an inspiration to me for her amazing strength, hard work, and overall positive attitude in light of some tragic events in her life.

She lost her husband when he was killed by a drunk driver while on his motorcycle at a red light. Then 6 years later, her only child, a daughter, was killed in a car wreck at the age of 18. Her whole world was taken away, yet she has managed to overcome the tragic events in her life and make the most of life. She has always been there for me and has made me feel confident and good about myself. I learned so much from her over the years and I am constantly amazed at her courage and strength. Working hard in her cafeteria job at the local high school, she never lets anyone get her down. She treats her students as if they were her own children and also is practically a mother to me and my brothers, her nephews.

Our entire family has had a lot of deaths and tragedy and without Aunt Shirley, we would be nothing. I feel she deserves this special honor because she always puts herself last and others first.
